Kindermat covers

Good Morning everyone.  School is fast approaching and I as I make my kindermat covers, I am reminded of my kids when they were younger and starting a new school year.  But it also reminds me of my younger years (now we are talking a long time ago :-)).  At the beginning of the school year, everything was fresh and new.  New tablets, new clothes, new determination to make good grades - that didn't last with me!!  As we approach the beginning of this school year, I wish everyone a great and very safe school year.  Be proud of yourself and be the best you can be at everything you choose to do!!

Today

I had a great day today.  Spent the night with my oldest daughter.  Had the chance to visit with all the kids and grandkids.  And finishing it all off with spending time with my husband.  Now I need to do a bit of sewing.  Have several orders to complete this week, which I am very excited about.  Hope to get more this week.  Plus this week I will have the opportunity to "shop sit" the little boutique where some of Gramme's items are sold.  Very excited.  Hope everyone has a great week.

Sew long!!

Fabric scraps

A few months ago, I went through all my fabric scraps, bundled them according to color or design pattern, and sold a few on Etsy.  Unfortunetly I didn't sell enough to make a difference, cause I still have a pile of bundles at the bottom of my closet in my sewing room.  So today, I got an  idea.  I figured out that I could 11 1/2lb bundles in a medium size priority rate box.  Took pics of the bundles and now have a terrific offer on Etsy.  Over 5 lbs of fabric scraps for $25.00 which includes the shipping costs.  I would be so excited to destash my scraps.  Since I bundled all these scraps a few months ago, another bin has been growing with more scraps.  They are multiplying!!!

Take a look!!

Changes

A big change for me will occur at the end of this week.  My last day with the company I work for will be Friday, July2.  I hope to have more time to devote to my family as well as my favorite thing to do, besides spending time with my family, creating, promoting and selling the items I make.

On sale, at Gramme's House (Etsy) is my pocket purse organizer.  Regularly $22.99, through July 2nd, they are on sale for $15.00 plus shipping.  The link is http://www.etsy.com/listing/43374775/pocket-purse-organizer-medium

Happy sewing,
Debbie

Pocket Purse Organizer - Medium

Thanks to a very nice Etsy customer, buttonbistro7, I am able to offer another new item to my shop. I have been making the large pocket purse organizers for about a year, but it was not until buttonbistro7 asked about resizing it smaller, did I try this pattern. It came out so cute. I will be mailing it out to her tomorrow. I hope she likes it. She said she will promote it for me on her blog...maybe I can sell a few.

My scrap stash

I can't believe I actually did this. I started Monday, before work, and then working until midnight the last 2 nights, and finishing tonight, I went through my entire stash of scraps. (2) large bins!! I made 1/2 lb bundles, and hope to sell them in my Etsy shop. I started selling the extra lace I have accumulated, and actually have had (1) sale. I have way too much stuff. Will never get a chance to do all I want to do. So I am really going to try to be good and stay out of the fabric stores. May last until next weekend. I will be away from home that weekend, for work, and bored, and I have a feeling I know where I will end up!!

A dress for Adalee

My oldest granddaughter spent the night with us last night. So while I had her with me I figured that it would be a good time to sew the dress I promised my daughter I would make for a birthday party Adalee is invited to. Cowboy theme for a set of twin boys turning 3. Plus I figured this was a good time, since the party is next weekend. Now I just have to figure out what I am going to make for Wyatt.

My Stash

I have to admit, as much as I hate to, that my husband is right. I have a problem!! I can not walk into a fabric store without buying more fabric, thread, patterns, or other items. So today, I started cleaning my sewing room, and came across a ton of lace and eyelet that I think I can part with. Going to try. I added some listings to my Etsy shop, so I will see if I can decrease my stash that way. If that works out, I think I may try doing that with some fabric I have been holding onto for a while. Even looking at my (2) scrap bins. Just a year ago, my scraps fit in a large gift bag I kept in the corner of my room. Yes, now, 2 large bins. I just need to stay away from the fabric stores!!!

Waffle Jewelry Roll

I am so excited. I had seen these done but couldn't find where to purchase the rolls. Last week when ordering supplies for a large key fob order, I found them. So, of course, the minute I received my package, had to try the monogramming and it came out perfect. So this is my latest addition to my Etsy shop.
